early life
Dmitro was born on April 19, 1981, in Sumy, Ukraine to his father, Ivan Dmitrovich Kuleba, and his mother, whose name has not been released. His father works as a diplomat and is a former deputy secretary of state. His father was also ambassador to countries like Egypt, Czech Republic, Kazakhstan and Armenia. Dimitro was greatly inspired by his father and wanted to follow the same career path. It is known that in 2003 Dmitry continued his education at the Institute of International Relations at the Taras Shevchenko National University in Kyiv.
Dimitro Kuleba Career
Dimitro began his career as a diplomat in 2003 when he began working in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. He served in the ministry until 2013, later stepping down due to his disagreements with then-president Viktor Yanukovich. Kuleba then became president of the UART Foundation for Cultural Diplomacy and also participated in the Euromaidan protests in 2013. In 2014, during the Russian invasion of Ukraine, he returned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as Ambassador for Communications. Dymtro also advanced digital, cultural and public diplomacy at work and was instrumental in resolving the situation.
Then he was appointed Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the Council of Europe. Dmitro currently works as a diplomat and holds the position of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. He has held this position since 2020 and is also currently a member of the National Defense and Security Council. Earlier, in 2019, he held the post of Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration. Apart from this, he has also written a book titled The War of Reality, which was released in 2019. This book talks about modern communication, media literacy and combating disinformation.

More recently, in 2022, as Ukraine faces external pressures and aggression from its neighbor Russia, Dimitro published a to-do list for the world in which he called for more weapons, isolating Russia. Listed five items, including funding, financial aid and humanitarian aid. When Russia began firing missiles at Ukrainian military installations, the minister sought help and support from other countries, the European Union and the United Nations, against Russia’s all-out invasion of Ukraine.
