Bruno Guimaraes began playing football at the age of eight and quickly progressed through the ranks, going on to make three appearances for the Brazilian Under-20s. After making a senior international debut at the age of 21, Bruno made his first appearance for Brazil against Chile. He played a minute but the national side did not get the call. He then signed for FC Internazionale do Vitória-Gamba in the country and impressed as a full international and a substitute during the Brazil national team’s qualification for the 2010 World Cup.
Bruno has become one of Vittoria-Gamba’s key players and has earned a reputation as one of the most exciting attacking players in the Brazilian club football league. Bruno began his career in Estoril Praia, the country’s top division, and spent many years playing mainly as a right-wing player. He moved to FC Barcelona in Spain and played as a center forward, but injuries prevented him from fulfilling his potential at this club. He then joined former club Sporting Lisbon as an attacking midfielder, but failed to play again for the Portuguese side.
