Chelsea Jane Winstanley Was born on January 30, 1976 in Tauranga, Bay of Plenty, New Zealand. She is the daughter of home renovator John Winstanley and psychotherapist Cheri Wilson. John James Winstanley (1905–1977), an ice cream salesman from Wigan, Lancashire, England, was Chelsea Winstanley’s maternal grandfather. Sophia Millerstone Rowe (née MacDonald) (1914–1961) was Winstanley’s maternal grandmother. She was the daughter of James MacDonald and Caroline Creed of Inverness, Scotland. Kiritapu “Kitty” Wilson (née Borel) was Winstanley’s paternal grandmother. Winstanley is a descendant of Ngati Ranginui and Ngai Te Rangi through his mother.
