Dorthia Lauren Allegra Lapkus was born on 6 September 1985, and is an actress, comedian, impressionist, and podcaster from the United States. Lapkus is best known for her roles as Susan Fisher in Netflix’s comedy-drama Orange Is the New Black and as Jess on HBO’s comedy-drama Crashing. Additionally, she has also been in television shows like Are You There, Chelsea? (2012), Hot in Cleveland (2012), Clipped (2015), The Big Bang Theory (2018–2019), and Good Girls (2020–2022), as well as in the film Jurassic World (2015),[1] The Unicorn (2018), and The Wrong Missy (2020–2022). (2020). She portrayed Lotta in the animated comedy series Harvey Girls Forever! from 2018 to 2020.

career

Lapkus began earning nearly a year in Los Angeles in commercials for Snickers and Jack in the Box, and a skit on Jimmy Kimmel Live! She received representation as a reward for her achievements and played a supporting role in the briefly aired Are You There, Chelsea? in pilot season.

Lapkus was cast as security guard Susan Fisher in the first and second seasons of the Netflix series Orange Is the New Black, after self-taping her audition. Lapkus and the cast received a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Ensemble Performance in a Comedy Series in 2015.

Dorthia Lauren Allegra Lapkus was born on September 6, 1985, in Evanston, Illinois. He began filming skits with his older brother at a young age and eventually performed at YAMO, the annual student review and variety show at Evanston Township High School.

She began attending improvisation lessons at the IO Theater during her final year of high school. She went to DePaul University and earned a degree in English in 2008, while continuing to practice improvisation most evenings. Lapkus credits his early appearances in television comedy and Saturday Night Live for teaching him to pursue a career as a comedian.
