Dirk Derrick Banks, better known by his stage name lil durkey, is an American rapper and singer from Chicago, Illinois. He was born on 19 October 1992. Only Family is his collective and record label, and he is the founder and primary member (OTF). Dirk gained a cult following and a record deal with Def Jam Recordings with the release of his Sign to the Streets mixtape series (2013–2014). Dirk’s fifth studio album, Just Cause Yel Weight 2, debuted well on the Billboard Hot 100 in April 2020 with the track “Viral Moment” (2020).

Dirk was born on October 19, 1992, in Englewood, Illinois, on the south side of Chicago. When he was seven months old, his father was imprisoned, thus he grew up at home with a lot of responsibilities. He found his initial success on social media platforms such as MySpace and YouTube, and as his online fan base grew, he became more interested in the concept of being a rapper. Dirk became more serious about his job at age 17, becoming a parent and leaving Paul Robson High School to join the Chicago street gang.

Lil Durk was once associated with the Chicago-based rapper Glow Gang, led by Chief Keef, during his early years in the industry. He was never accepted into the Mark, in any case. This clarification resulted in Lil Dirk building his image in the music industry.

His relationship with India Royal began in 2017. In December 2021, they announced their engagement. They have six children, Skyler, Zayden, Bella, Willow, Angelo and Daumier.
