Marion Gordon “Pat” Robertson was born on March 22, 1930, in Lexington, Virginia, to Gladys Churchill and Absalom Willis Robertson. His older brother Willis gave him the nickname “Pat”.
In 1946, he graduated from The McCully School in Chattanooga. He then earned a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Washington and Lee. He was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity there.

Pat Robertson After being drafted, he started his career in the army. In 1948, they were reinstated. He was promoted to first lieutenant in 1952.
