Praveen Kumar Sobti is an Indian sportsperson, actor, former BSF soldier. He became famous after the role of Bheem in the famous serial Mahabharata, He joined the BSF at the age of just 20. Praveen has represented India twice at the Asian Games, Commonwealth Games and Olympics. Praveen won 4 medals in Asian Games and one silver medal in Commonwealth Games.

Then he started his acting journey. He acted in more than 50 films and serials. Praveen made his debut with the film Defense in 1981. In 1988, he started working as Bheem in BR Chopra’s Mahabharat. In 2013, Praveen became active in politics. He joined AAP and contested from Delhi on AAP ticket but lost. In 2014, he left AAP and joined BJP.

He was born on 6 December 1947 in Sarhali Kalan, Punjab. Presently, he was living in New Delhi, India. Praveen did his schooling in a government school in Sarhali Kalan, Punjab. There is no information available about his college studies and graduation. Praveen belongs to a Hindu family. His father’s name and his mother’s name are not known. He also has 4 brothers and 1 sister.

Praveen is married. The name of his wife is not known. He also has 1 son and 1 daughter. His son’s name is not known and his daughter’s name is Nipunika Sobti. His son is a pilot.
