Sofia Anne Caruso is an American actress and singer. She came into limelight with her rising role as Lydia Deetz in the Broadway musical Beetlejuice, for which she also won a Theater World Award. Despite this, she has also appeared in other parts, including Girl in Lazarus (2015–17) and Iris in the Nether (2015).
She has been in news for her re-emerging role of Sophie, a young girl who wants to escape her ordinary life to become a princess, in the Netflix film The School for Good and Evil since October 2022. Caruso was born on 11 July 2001 and turned 21 in 2022. She and her family are from Spokane, Washington, where her father, Steve Caruso, and mother, Dina, golfer turned (now a former golfer) Caruso own a clothing and jewelry store. The production never opened on set, however, as actor David Gigler collapsed on stage during rehearsals before the opening and died at the time. Later that year, Caruso moved with her entire family to New York to continue her professional career.

In 2014, Caruso was allowed to reprise her role as Tina Denmark Ruthless! For a limited time at Triad Theater. The following month she had another chance to play Charlotte van Gothem in Little Dancer at the Kennedy Center (Washington, DC). In 2015, Caruso appeared in an Off-Broadway play called The Netherlands at the MCC Theater, for which she also received a Lucille Lortel nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress. She later made her Broadway debut as The Girl in Blackbeard at the Belasco Theatre. She performed in the role of Encore! It was performed in a Runaways concert production in New York City Center.
Then, in 2016, he reprized his role as Lazarus in the King’s Cross Theater production, for which he received a nomination from the WhatsApp Awards. In 2017 she played Lydia Deetz in the musical Beetlejuice. He got a role in a rehearsal of the musical at the National Theater in Washington, DC. He also received the Theater World Award for this role. On February 19, 2020, he left his role to pursue his career in films and the big screen.
