career
Sidel has played volleyball since childhood. Charlotte Christian was the starter for four years and team captain for three of those years. His team reached the state quarterfinals three times, and in 2012, he helped set a new school record for most wins in a season. She earned four CISAA All-Conference selections (2009–12) and two NCISAA All-State selections (2011–12).
She played club for Carolina Union and represented the team at the national level in 2012. Sidell started his first year after injuring his knee during the season. Curry’s first season was a success. She appeared in 22 games, nine of which were starts, and finished second on the team in assists (360) and assists per set (5.29) with 118 digs and five aces. She had 40 assists in a five-set match against UNC Asheville, 14 digs in a four-set match against Towson, three double-doubles for the season, and was voted team best. Siedel’s breakthrough year was her sophomore year when she officially became the starter. He went on to appear in 28 matches, starting 24 times. With 851 assists for the season, she led the club and ranked fifth in the league.
